Los seis días que marcaron un hito histórico en Cutral Co y Plaza Huincul: La Pueblada

Desde el 20 al 26 de junio, la población de Cutral Co y Plaza Huincul vivieron un reclamo histórico.

Un día como hoy concluía la mayor protesta social del que tuvo registro las comunidades de Cutral Co y Plaza Huincul. Desde el 20 al 26 de junio de 1996, las vecinas y vecinos se volcaron a las Rutas 22 y 17 para protestar por la desaparición de las fuentes de trabajo y la profundización de la crisis.

Este 2024 se cumplen 28 años de aquella pueblada que tuvo diversos protagonistas. Muchos de ellos no volvieron a la escena pública, otros si. En esta producción que Cutral Co al Instante realizó cuando se conmemoraban dos décadas de la protesta, se escuchan varios testimonios.

Destacamos el de Ernesto Jote Figueroa, el dirigente del gremio Uocra, quien pasó por el Deliberante como concejal y después volvió a su casa. Figueroa era el encargado de cada 20 de junio reunir alimentos y preparar un sustancioso locro que repartía con las familias que lo quisiera para recordar la fecha. Solía hacerlo en la sede comunitaria del barrio Unión. Ernesto falleció en diciembre de 2022.
